Is Iceland a safe place to travel?

Iceland was the one on the top lists for the safest country in the world. Violent crimes are extremely rare. While there is an increase in petty crimes, those are directly related to the growth of the country’s tourism industry so exercise your usual level of caution when you are in public places.

When is the best time of year to visit?

Iceland offers just as many and exciting activities in the winter as it does in the summer. While winter is usually referred to as the off-season because of the rainy and snowy weather as well as the long nights.

Do I need a visa for Iceland?

U.S. citizens may stay in the country as tourists for up to 90 days without a visa within a 180-day period. Just make sure your passport is valid for six months beyond your travel dates.

How many days should I spend in Iceland?

Most travelers spend between 5-10 days in Iceland. If you are spending fewer days we recommend that you stay in Reykjavik and go on day trips form there. You can choose between renting a car and self driving around the country or joining a tour.

Do I have to tip in iceland?

Service fee is usually included in your bill in Iceland so you do not have to tip. The locals usually never tip because it has never been a tradition in Iceland, but many travelers like to do it.

How widely accepted are credit cards? Do I need to use a PIN?

Credit cards are widely accepted in Iceland. Visa and MasterCard are your best bet, since all Icelandic banks service them.

Z Trippy Travel byłam na wycieczce po Golden Circle połączonej z relaksem w Blue Lagoon. Było super. Przyroda niesamowita, a pilot Roman opowiadał nam wiele ciekawostek o okolicy, o przyrodzie, zwierzakach i o Islandczykach. Normalnie wycieczka na Golden Circle jest krótka, a tu w połączeniu z Blue Lagoon zajmuje cały dzień i marnowałam czasu. Polecam :)

With Trippy Travel we have just seen Golden Circle with Blue Lagoon 💙 Amazing tour! We had a great time - wonderful views and perfect relax at BL. Our guide Roman was very friendly and helpful, and he gave us great amount of info about Islandic culture, nature and customs. All done with humour 😄 Thank you! And for sure I will come back in winter to see Nothern lights with Roman!
